The use of arnica in folk medicine is well-documented, with records dating back to the 16th century, where it was utilized for its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. It is derived from the leaves and bark of the Witch Hazel shrub (Hamamelis virginiana), a plant native to North America. Today, Witch Hazel is a popular component in various skincare products, including toners and acne treatments, due to its potential benefits for acne-prone, oily, and sensitive skin. Quick Links Skin Care Benefits Origin and History Amber Budd Products Complementary Ingredients Suitable Skin Types Shelf Life FAQ Witch Hazel Skin Care Benefits Natural Astringent: One of the most notable benefits of Witch Hazel is its natural astringent properties. Soothes Skin Irritations: Witch Hazel can soothe minor skin irritations, including those caused by bug bites or poison ivy. It helps to reduce inflammation and swelling, offering immediate relief from discomfort. Tightens Pores: Witch Hazel is also known for its ability to tighten pores. Regulates Skin Tone: Regular use of Witch Hazel may help to improve skin tone. It can aid in evening out skin discoloration, potentially reducing the appearance of dark spots and blemishes. Soothes Acne: Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, Witch Hazel can soothe acne and reduce redness and inflammation associated with breakouts. This can lead to a clearer and healthier-looking complexion. Controls Oil Production: Witch Hazel has been observed to control excess sebum production, making it beneficial for those with oily skin. Storage and Shelf Life Products containing Witch Hazel should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to maintain their efficacy. How long does my hair need to be for waxing? 1/4" - 1/2" (about the length of a grain of rice) - any longer than that and we run the risk of hairs getting tangled or crossed, and the wax won't be as effective, and may be more painful for you. How do I prepare for a body wax (bikini, brazilian, etc)" The day before the wax, gently exfoliate the area. Do not wear any body lotion, oil or perfume in the area to be waxed on the day of your appointment. I'm scheduled for a bikini/brazilian/french bikini wax, and I'm on my period....what do I do?" It's entirely up to you if you'd like to still have your wax service. Most women experience a bit more sensitivity around their periods. If you do decide to go ahead with the wax, please wear a tampon, and let me know that you're on your period when you arrive. If you'd like to reschedule for after your period, that's okay too, just do so at least 24 hours ahead of time so I can open that appointment time for other clients. Pre and Post care for all wax services -do not tan for a week prior to waxing -no lotion, oil, or perfume in the area to be waxed -stay out of the sun for 24 hours prior to waxing -post wax, stay out of the sun for 24 hours, and wear spf when you do go out in the sun -avoid tight clothing for the first few hours post wax for comfort -do not pick at ingrown hairs. If you have trouble with ingrown hairs, please let Amber know so we can discuss options for treatment -all waxing should be done on a regular basis for best results. Hair will grow back more fine, there is less chance of ingrown hairs, and it's less painful if you get on a regular wax schedule. We recommend 3-5 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. What products do you carry? Amber Budd Skincare, Amber Budd Brows, Dysport, Xeomin, Botox, Scinic SPF, Skin Script Rx, Face Reality Acne Skincare, Sarah Happ, Aviva Tan I just need to talk to you about product/pick up product?
