Are Skin Classic and Aerolase The Same Thing?
We’ve had a few people ask what the difference is between Skin Classic and Aerolase - and that's a good question, so I thought we'd dive deeper here!

The quickest way to describe it is Skin Classic treats individual spots, and it only treats a single thing at a time by dehydrating the area with a quick high frequency wave.
Aerolase treats small and large areas with different lens types, via laser pulses. It focuses on the root cause, not just the spot itself. There is some crossover (for example, Aerolase does also treat cherry angiomas and skin tags) but they’re treated differently.
Neither is necessarily better, it's more about what you’re looking to treat, what your budget is, and what your tolerance for discomfort is. Lets start with what they treat: Skin Classic: Milia Sebaceous Hyperplasia Skin Tags Some broken capillaries Some superficial pigment spots Some clogged pores
Aerolase:
Acne
Pigmentation spots and melasma
Fine lines
Scarring (though not keloid)
Skin Rejuvenation
Hair removal
Skin Tags
Cherry Angiomas
Notice there are some crossovers, but they are different.
Next Up, Budget:
Skin Classic This is the more budget conscious option, at $30 for a spot, $100 for as many as we can treat 15 minutes, or $150 for as many as we can treat in 30 minutes.
Aerolase ranges in price between a spot for $100, up to an area the size of a letter sheet of paper (8.5”x11”) is $400. There’s a range between there, based on what the size of the area we are treating is. Lastly, Discomfort Level: Skin Classic is widely referred to as feeling like a bee sting. It's sharp, short and stops hurting once it's over. Each spot takes 3-10 seconds to treat, so it's pretty quick overall, but the initial touch of the filament does sting. Aerolase is widely referred to as a warm feeling. No lingering discomfort, just warm during treatment. Sometimes this can feel slightly hot, but subsides with touch or ice pack. The laser is so fast our body barely has time to recognize it.
