Wax Poetic...about body and facial waxing
Why should I come to you? I usually get my (insert waxed body part here) waxed at my (nail tech, random wax spot down the street, etc).
Amber's Answer: the long and short of it is this - I'm a professional. I've made waxing, specifically bikini/brazilian and brows, my specialties. I'm quick, thorough, and cleanliness and safety are my utmost concerns. Beyond that, I love my job, I'm passionate about making sure your brows are the best design for your face shape, and I'm comfortable with any body type, size, etc for brazilian/bikini. Other than safety and cleanliness, your comfort is my next concern. I adjust each wax depending on YOU...and don't you deserve someone who treats your brows and bikini line, (heck, any waxing service) like the individual you are?! I believe you do.
You use Cirepil wax….is that the weird blue stuff? Why do you use that? Amber’s Answer: Because as of now, I’ve tried more than 10 other types of wax, and this is the only product I believe in. The wax is effective at removing all the hairs, and it only sticks to the hairs, not your skin.
Cirepil’s Answer: “At Cirépil by Perron Rigot, we believe: “It’s not just about what we remove. It is about what we leave behind… Healthy Skin!” Unlike traditional methods of waxing, Cirépil wax sticks to the hair rather than the skin, reducing the pain of waxing by 50%! Cirépil wax encapsulates the hair, removing it from the root while leaving the skin undamaged. When the integrity of the skin is uncompromised, there is reduced inflammation, redness and downtime for the client; making painful waxing a thing of the past!”
What’s the difference…I mean…just in bullet points. Why is it better? Here’s the website definition of “Happy Waxing” (TM Perron-Rigot and Cirepil)

Long Lasting: Results can last 2 – 4 weeks. Up to 4 – 6 with regular waxing! No breakage. Hair is completely removed from its root.
What is the benefit of waxing? Amber’s Answer: Less time spent shaving in the shower. No knicks or cuts. It’s fast. No scratchy or itchy stubble. When hair grows back in from waxing, it is less noticeable, and more finely textured, so there is no scratchy stubble.
Cirepil’s Answer: Waxing is more effective than shaving because it removes the entire hair from the root, not just from the surface of the skin, giving you longer lasting results. With consistent waxing over time, hair grows back finer and sparser whereas with shaving, hair appears to grow back faster, thicker and coarser. In addition, shaving increases the risk of nicks, cuts, ingrown hairs and razor burn especially in sensitive areas such as bikini, chest and underarms.
How long should my hair be before waxing? Amber’s Answer: The length of a grain of rice for any body hair. Facial hair is treated differently and just needs to be noticeable. We can tweeze any strays the wax won’t pick up.
What maintenance is required between waxes? Amber’s Answer: Exfoliate, Moisturize, and DON’T PICK! If you’re having any trouble with ingrown hairs, there are several factors that can contribute, please let me know at your next appointment, and we can discuss options.
How long will a wax last? Amber’s Answer: 2-4 weeks for your first roughly 3 waxes. Once your hair is all on the same growth cycle, most people can go 3-6 weeks between waxes.
Cirepil’s Answer: Results can last 2-4 weeks, depending on your hair re-growth. With regular waxing, the length of time required between treatments may increase to 4-6 weeks or longer. Since hair growth patterns differ based on the individual, you may need a few treatments before you see the full benefits of waxing.
Can I wax while I’m pregnant? Amber’s Answer: Sure you can! It may be more sensitive in the bikini region, due to blood flow, but there’s no reason (unless your doc tells you no) you shouldn’t continue waxing through pregnancy if you’re comfortable with it.
Cirepil’s Answer: Waxing during pregnancy is common; however, with increased hormones and blood flow, pregnant women may be more sensitive to waxing. It is recommended that you consult your doctor first before doing anything with or to your body while pregnant.
Why do I have to answer a questionnaire prior to waxing?
Amber’s Answer: This helps me provide you with the best possible service. The questionnaire is all about safety of service for each individual. Sometimes waxing isn’t the best option, and we should tweeze. If I know you’re allergic to something, we can avoid products that may have those ingredients or a derivative in it.
Cirepil’s Answer: As with any spa or salon service, you must fill out a questionnaire that discloses all products, medications, known skin disorders and allergies prior to waxing so your beauty professional can safely perform your service. It is important that you answer questions about your current and past state of health honestly so that your beauty professional can perform your treatment in the safest way possible.
Can I go tanning prior to or after waxing? Cirepil’s Answer: Tanning prior to or after waxing is not recommended by beauty professionals as tanning, in any respect, is damaging to the skin. When waxing, Cirépil wax professionals aim to protect the skin and minimize the presence of redness and inflammation; therefore, it’s best to not tan before your appointment and to arrive at your appointment with uncompromised skin. However, after your Cirépil waxing treatment, if you’re thinking about tanning or vacationing somewhere warm, you must wait at least 24 hours before exposing the waxed area to UV rays. No matter how gentle the waxing process, the skin will be slightly exfoliated, more sensitive and be at greater risk for hyper pigmentation. Whether intentionally exposing yourself to UV rays or not, is essential that you wear sunscreen after waxing.
